Immediate teeth with Dental Implants
- It was once long back believed that one has to wait after extraction of the tooth to replace it, which is not the scenario today.
- It is possible to extract the tooth and replace it with dental implants on the same day.
- A tooth which can not be saved usually goes for extraction eg, grossly decayed tooth, fractured tooth, only roots which are remaining. Such tooth are extracted and replaced immediately with dental implants.
- On the first day extraction is performed under local anesthesia, immediately after extraction implant is placed in the same socket from where the tooth is being removed.
- 3D scanning will be done to take the digital impression( measurement).
- The next day crown is fixed onto the implant.
- Here is how we replaced a fractured tooth, immediately after extracting it.
- A 33 years old male patient who came to our clinic with a chief complaint of pain in one of his upper teeth since 4 days, pain increases while chewing food so he has taken some painkillers which gave him a mild relief for only some point of time.
- On clinical diagnosis: Patient presented with with amalgam(silver color) filling in upper right side molar teeth(16) which is fractured.
- Digital photographs and radiographs were taken to look into the condition of the tooth, the x-ray revealed fracture involving the root also.
