On clinical examination:
- Missing full upper teeth
- Multiple crowns and shaking bridge in lower teeth
- Digital photographs and radiographs were taken to analyse the condition of the remaining teeth, bone and the soft tissue of the patient.
- Patient presented with the medical history of diabetes for which she is on medication. Since she is travelling to abroad in a week she hardly had time for the treatment.
Treatment plan for upper full teeth replacement:
- Advised upper full teeth replacement with dental implants
- Number of days needed for treatment 3 – 5 days which includes checkup visit also
- Provisional acrylic bridge for 6 months – 1 year
- To change into permanent after 6 months
- Patient happy about the plan and was eager to get fixed teeth
Steps in upper teeth replacement:
- Local anestheisa (Painless injection) given for upper full arch and lower teeth
- Damaged crowns and bridges removed in lower teeth
- Upper and lower dental implants placed by key hole technique
- Measurements taken
- Provisional bridge fixed on 4th day of implant placement
- Checkup visit done before she left abroad
Implant permanent teeth:
- Patient came after a year to change her provisional teeth to permanent teeth
- Complete healing of implants observed in xray
- Metal ceramic bridge suggested
- After a 5 to 6 days procedure patient now has a glassy new metal ceramic bridge which looks very natural for her and she continues to enjoy her food.
